What is LEPAA?
LEPAA, or the Lubbock Entertainment and Performing Arts Association is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization whose goal is to raise private funds to design and construct The Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences, a new, dynamic entertainment and performing arts center in the downtown area of the Cultural Arts District.

Why are we doing this now?
This has actually been a long time in the making. For more than 30 years, the Lubbock community has asked for a performance venue that will not only foster but also attract the very best and brightest in the entertainment and performing arts from across the South Plains and beyond.

How confident is LEPAA that funds will be raised in time to finish construction in 2020? Could we potentially be stuck in a bond situation or a tax increase to make this come to fruition?
We have full confidence in garnering all funds necessary by the time we complete construction. LEPAA was developed specifically for the purpose of raising funds from the private sector. And, all feasibility as shown in the April 9, 2013 kick-off presentation expressed the community not only wants it, but also supports it. To-date, LEPAA has raised close to $100 million needed for construction of The Buddy Holly Hall, with an additional $3.2 million raised in capital endowment funds.

What will the facility look like once completed?
Once completed, The Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences will total more than 220,000 square feet, including a 2,200 seat theater, a 425 seat theater design for Lubbock ISD, a 6,000 square foot multipurpose space, and a bistro by MarketStreet.

Is there any estimate on how this will benefit our economy?
All studies indicate this will serve as the catalyst for downtown revitalization – which, in and of itself will boost our economy and have tremendous economic impact.

If I make a donation, where will my money go?
Construction of The Buddy Holly Hall is completely funded through donations by foundations, corporations and individuals. 100%  of all donations go directly toward funding construction of the Hall. LEPAA operations are funded separately through a generous grant. 

What kind of shows will you bring to The Buddy Holly Hall?
The Hall will be managed by SMG Worldwide, a company who professionally manages more than 60 theaters across the United States. Under their guidance, we expect to bring the absolute best in Broadway performances, concerts, comedy, family acts and more. We anticipate events happening at The Buddy Holly Hall 344 days a year. You won’t want to miss out on what’s happening at The Hall!

Will there be enough parking at The Buddy Holly Hall?
We have planned for ample surface parking at The Hall and will offer valet parking for many events. In fact, there will be more available parking within 600 feet of The Buddy Holly Hall than is available at the City Bank Auditorium.
