LEPAA Signs World-Renowned Facility Management Company

Lubbock Entertainment and Performing Arts Association (LEPAA) has signed worldwide entertainment and conference venue management company, SMG, as the operator of Lubbock’s downtown performance venue, The Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences.

SMG will operate, schedule and book performances, program special events, and manage all aspects of Buddy Holly Hall’s day-to-day operations.

“LEPAA is thrilled to partner with this dynamic venue management company with its national and international expertise to oversee the operations of this splendid performing arts center,” said Tim Collins, LEPAA Board Chairman.

Founded in 1977, the Conshohocken, PA-based management group is the “gold standard” in public facility management, providing services including sports and entertainment booking, convention center services, facility marketing, naming rights and sponsorships development, facility design, and daily operations. SMG manages over 230 facilities worldwide, 62 of which are performing arts centers/theaters. Their expertise is unrivaled.

SMG now also operates Midland’s Wagner Noël Performing Arts Center. With its close proximity to Lubbock, the entire West Texas region will benefit, as SMG will attract a larger number and wider variety of performances and events to both of these facilities. “Managing both facilities will provide one-stop shopping for agents, managers, and promoters as they route their events through West Texas,” said Bob Papke, SMG Vice President of Live Entertainment – Theaters.

The Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences will feature a 2,200-seat multipurpose main theater, a 425-capacity smaller theater, and a divisible flat-floor multipurpose room, among many other features and amenities.
