The Buddy Holly Songwriters Retreat
LEPAA is proud to present the Buddy Holly Songwriters Retreat in Lubbock this August.
The 5-day retreat and concert, held annually the last week in August, honors the legacy of Buddy Holly, inspiring and cultivating songwriters in his hometown of Lubbock, Texas.
During this week-long retreat, writers break up into small groups to collaborate with mentors through the creative process of songwriting. Each evening, the groups come back together for great local cuisine and share the songs written during the day. The weeks ends with a special Friday night showcase held at The Buddy Holly Hall to debut the best songs written during the retreat.
In September 2019, LEPAA introduced the first Buddy Holly Songwriters’ Retreat. Endorsed by his widow, Maria Elena Holly, this songwriters retreat is the ONLY retreat in the world to ever bear the name of Buddy Holly.
